Some of you long time visitors to our blog will remember the Garden Center cats, Chip and Slim. We’ve shared stories about them in the past…how they showed up at the Guy’s garden center and he decided to let them stay. We trapped them and got them neutered. You can read our first post about them HERE.
You may also remember that we lost Chip back in 2020 after he became very ill. Slim remained and did well these past years. Until a couple of weeks ago. He didn’t want to eat, was losing weight and began having trouble walking. A trip to the vet discovered that the prognosis wasn’t good, and the difficult decision was made to let him go. We estimated him to be about 13-14 years old.

Slim may have been an outside cat, but he had a pretty good life. He was well taken care of at the garden center. He had a garage area with lots of bales of straw to live in and got his 2 meals a day. The garden center was his playground.

And even though he was still a little skittish around humans, he did enjoy getting pets and rubbings from everyone at the garden center, especially the Guy.

Fly free, Slim. We hope you found your buddy Chip and you’re both running around the rainbow bridge together.

You brought a lot of joy to the people who cared about you…especially the Guy…and you will forever be missed.
